Juicy pan-seared beef steaks
Ingredients
• 2 veal steaks, approx. 280-300 g each
• 2 cloves of garlic, finely chopped
• 1 tbsp. rosemary, finely chopped
• 1 tsp. savory
• 60 g Pdo Sitia Extra Virgin Olive Oil "Golden Creta Savouidakis"
• 100 g "Aspro Pato" Dry White Table Wine
• 60 g chicken broth or water
• Salt & freshly ground black pepper
Execution
• Wash the steaks and wipe them well.
• Place them in a small basin and pour 20 g of Pdo Sitia Extra Virgin Olive Oil "Golden Creta Savouidakis" all over them.
• Add the garlic, rosemary and savory and adjust the taste with salt and pepper.
• Leave them in a cool place to marinate for 20-25 mins.
• Veal steaks are naturally quite tender and, thanks to the marinade, they will gain extra flavor.
• Then, place a pan over the heat and add the remaining Pdo Sitia Extra Virgin Olive Oil "Golden Creta Savouidakis" .
• Once heated, add the steaks over medium-high heat.
• Brown them for 4 mins on both sides and add the "Aspro Pato" Dry White Table Wine.
• Add the broth and allow them to come to a boil all together.
• Finish by cooking them in a pre-heated oven at 175°C for 10 more minutes (no need to flip the steaks again).
