Chicken with chestnuts & red sauce


1 chicken, weighing 1 ½ kg
2 medium onions
1 red pepper
2 kg chestnuts
1 wineglass of "Lof" Extra Virgin Olive Oil
1 small glass of "Aspro Pato" Dry Red Table Wine
Salt, pepper



Wash the chicken, cut it into portions, season with salt and pepper, sauté it in the olive oil for 10 mins and then add the wine.
Cut the onions and the pepper into small pieces and add them in the pot.
Simmer all the ingredients in the pot for 2-3 mins, add some water the leave the food to boil over medium heat for 30 mins.
Then, add the boiled and peeled chestnuts for another 10 mins approximately. If you wish, you can add two grated ripe tomatoes instead of water.
