Apple pie with olive oil and honey
Ingredients
• 4 apples, fuji or golden
• 85 g all-purpose flour
• 40 ml "Lof" Extra Virgin Olive Oil
• 3 tbsp. sugar
• 3 tbsp. milk
• 1 tsp. baking powder
• 150 ml Cretan Thyme Honey by Savouidakis
• 4 eggs
• 1/4 tsp. cinnamon powder
• 1/8 tsp. clove powder
• 1/4 tsp. ginger powder
Execution
• Preheat the oven to 175°C.
• In a bowl, mix the 2 eggs, the "Lof" Extra Virgin Olive Oil, the sugar, the milk and add the sifted flour.
• Mix together until homogenized.
• Peel the apples and cut them into thin slices.
• In a baking pan or a baking dish, arrange the apple slices in layers, in circular order.
• Pour the mix you prepared over the slices and bake at 175°C for 18 mins.
• While the apple pie is being baked, lightly beat the eggs in a bowl and add the Cretan Thyme Honey by Savouidakis after heating it for a few minutes.
• Pour this mix over the apple pie and bake at 175°C for another 20 mins.
• If you wish, sprinkle with powdered sugar.
