Fluffy Doughnuts with Cretan Thyme Honey by Savouidakis
Ingredients
• 500 gr all-purpose flour
• 1 tbsp. Cretan Thyme Honey by Savouidakis
• 2 cups of lukewarm water
• 1 package active dry yeast
• 1 tsp.of salt
• "Lof" Extra Virgin Olive Oil for frying
• Cretan Thyme Honey by Savouidakis for serving
• Cinnamon
• Roasted sesame
Execution
• To prepare the yeast, dissolve it in a bowl, add some sugar and a little lukewarm water and after covering it, leave it for 10 minutes until it rises.
• Αdd the yeast, the flour and the honey into a large bowl,and slowly add the lukewarm water until the porridge becomes thick.
• Then add the salt.
• Cover the bowl and leave it near a warm place for 30 minutes.
• Heat the "Lof" Extra Virgin Olive Oil in a pan.
• Dip the left palm into the mixture and press upwards.
• Take the mixture that comes out of the hand with a spoon while putting it in water every time in order to prevent the doughnuts from sticking to the hot olive oil.
• Fry for a few minutes until the doughnuts become goldish.
• Place an absorbent household paper in a platter preventing the doughnuts to be soggy.
• Add the Cretan Thyme Honey by Savouidakis, cinnamon and the roasted sesame.
